Reviews Preview

Hi guys!

Along with hoping to see a lot more films in the next few weeks, I'm working on testing and getting to grips with a lot of products.  Here's a few that I'm working on to review:

Givenchy Poetique Blues:

Urban Decay Super Stash

Illamasqua Pure Pigment-Android

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation-Siberia

Maybelline Stilletto Mascara

Illamasqua Sheer Lipgloss-Soul

...and a ton of other products that are lying about!

Lots to look forward too

2012-the film, not the year

2012:

I was badgered into seeing this film after I had rightly avoided it for a while. Whilst the effects cannot be faulted, the film vitally missed out on an opportunity to ask questions of mortality and lacked any real emotional tension. Some deaths were shocking, such as seeing the American President sacrifice himself due to his strong morals. The other main characters may have debated whether their actions were right or wrong but predictably most of the boring, two dimensional characters survived. This film would have tugged at the heart strings more if the characters had been more likeable.
Emmerich's return to an apocalyptic theme was enjoyable but lacked an emotional angle which would have at least made the viewer care if these people live or die. Whilst its faults were plenty, the effects and action made for gripping viewing.
Here's hoping that the Road tackles the human element of the world's end much more successfully than 2012!
